Transitioning from Day to Night: Vegas Inspired

By Unknown - 11:26:00 am

I've found myself rushing to get ready for a night out a lot lately so have had to choose products that will either last me the whole day or that can transition me from day to night. Vegas.com were looking for new ways to transition makeup from day to night for a night out in Vegas and I knew exactly what I'd use!

Instead of creating a two looks, one for day and one for night, I thought I'd share my favourite quick-fix, touch up products. What are your go-to products for transitioning from day to night?

1. A good primer! - Nivea for Men Post Shave Balm

Although this isn't a product I'd use to take me from day to night, it's a product that will keep your makeup in place in the case that you only have time to touch up. There has been a huge hype around this product and at first I was hesitant to try it out but to my surprise it works fabulously at making my makeup stick in place through out the day as well as making it easier to blend. This would be perfect for a long day in Vegas as you won't have to waste time constantly checking your makeup and touching up throughout the day.

2. A Long Lasting Concealer! - Mac Prolong Wear Concealer

A good concealer can do you the world of good, especially after a night on the town. Mac's Prolong Wear is a go to of mine as it is high coverage, so hides my darkness, and lasts all day/night long. The packaging is small and comes with a very handy pump (although it does disperse a little too much) so is great for travelling!

3. Swap a gloss for a matte!

A simple way to take your makeup from day to night is to swap your softer glossy lip for something matte. I prefer to wear something glossy throughout the day as I find them comfortable and fuss free, Nyx's Butter Gloss in 'Creme Brûlée' is a favourite of mine. A gloss would be perfect for a day by the pool at Mandalay Bay for example. For a night time option I love Tanya Burr's Martha Moo. It's comfortable to wear, an amazing shade and lasts, even when eating or drinking.

4. Pop on some Lashes!

An easy way to amp up your eye look is to pop on a pair of lashes. Lashes instantly make things more 'night time' appropriate and draws attention to the eyes. When I think of Vegas inspired makeup lashes are always an essential! Before applying lashes however, I'd pop on some glitter using something like Mac's 'All That Glitters' which would be perfect for fancy dinner at somewhere like Sushi Roku or for a night at one of the many casino's!

  3. I'm definitely a matte lip girl so swapping to a liquid lipstick gets me ready for a night out - totally agree about lashes adding instant glam too :)

  5. I love the Nivea After Shave Balm as a primer! I never thought I would love it so much but when I first tried it I was amazed. I am so oily that I would end the day without any face makeup, but this makes my makeup stay almost intact! I love matte lipsticks for those days I don't want to think about my makeup staying in place. I love the post and your tips!
